Interim Support Team: School Year 2019 - 2020

Gretchen Forsyth, will assume the role of interim head of school for the 2019-2020 school year, beginning on June 12, 2019, through July 1, 2020, when a permanent head of school will begin. During this interim period, in partnership with the current administrative team and talented faculty, the role of assistant head of school will be filled internally, expanding the roles and responsibilities of several current faculty members.

Planting the Seeds of Mindfulness at GUS

In Buck’s second grade class, mindfulness is embedded into the daily routine, and has become very much a part of the class culture. Each day begins with yoga to calm and focus eager minds, and concludes with a reflection or meditation - sometimes lead by a student. In between, students practice deep breathing and mindful transitions when moving from one activity to the next.
